A Trio of Italian Wines

For that “Spring has finally arrived” mood, a lovely dry white:

2016 TORNATORE ETNA BIANCO, SICILY  -    $18
100% Carricante; salty sea breeze, light soft hyacinth & honeydew melon aromas (think Muscadet meets Albariño); soft & dry with a lingering, lightly floral finish.

For the “I don’t want to have to think about it” mood,
an all-purpose anytime red:

2015 “SCAIA” CORVINA, VENETO  -   $16/bottle
Pure Corvina, which is usually blended with other varietals to make the incredible Amarones of Valpolicella; here you get a delicious, soft, fresh & juicy red that is truly gulpable! pop the re-useable glass cork top & enjoy some tonight!

And, for the wine geek in all of us,
a most unusual red blend with terrific minerality:

2015 CASTELLO DI STEFANAGO, PROVINCIA DI PAVIA, LOMBARDY  -   $18/bottle
50% Uva Rara, 40% Croatina, 10% Barbera;
certified organic; bright cranberry & wild raspberry aromas mingle with
aromas of polished leather, damp leaves & pine needles;
soft tannins on a long finish of cranberry, leather & clay-like minerality.

Mix & Match a case (4 bottles of each) -  $185 (save $23!)
